Check Before You Travel

You should always check directly with the bookshop before you travel to them.

Opening times

We have deliberately chosen to not publish bookshop opening times.

This is to avoid the risk of opening times being changed by the bookshop without asking us to edit their listing, resulting in someone visiting to find it closed.

It is much safer for you to check their website or Facebook page to make sure you have the correct information.

Address and contact details

Sometimes the address published in a listing may contain an error. Please be mindful of this if, for example, you are using the postcode in your satnav to drive to the bookshop.

Bookshop closures

Sadly, bookshops can close down completely, especially small independent booksellers. Even large charity bookshop chains like Oxfam can close underperforming branches.

It's worth checking this, especially if it's a bookshop you haven't visited recently.

We make every effort to keep our listings accurate and will remove any bookshops immediately if we know they have closed, but sometimes they will close without anyone notifying us.
